Video: Tyler Perry Interview on 60 minutes
October 25th, 2009
When Hollywood refused to produce his films his way, Tyler Perry started his own studio in Atlanta. Now his movies are drawing huge audiences. Byron Pitts profiles the new and unlikely movie mogul. Some don’t understand Tyler Perry’s work and dismiss it, saying some of his characters are demeaning to African Americans. But Perry responds to the criticism this Sunday on 60 Minutes.

what happened to the rest of the interview i was getting into it and it stopped????
that was the whole interview. thats how 60min work.
Ok so why lie and say it is the whole thing?
let me know when you get the next 48 min and 57 sec
I really want to take my hats off to Tyler Perry because through your hard work you put into movies really opens the viewers eyes up. Unlike some people who are in denial and won’t accept the fact that they are living in a coruptive world is sad. Keep it up!! I can relate to a lot of the characters especially the crack addict in A Diary of a Mad Black Woman. I was once addicted to meth in 2003 and did the same thing as the character did and walked away from 4 children and ended up homeless and lived in a tunnel. In 2006 I went to rehab voluntarily and started going to church- and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. Today I am blessed with a big 5 bedroom home and been clean since 2006, and all my children are with me including a young son I named Chance, because GOD gave me that sec ond chance to be right. So GOD Bless you all who work hard for such success.
Do you really know someone like Mr. Brown (clown) or Madea (6’4″ transvestite)? I do not therefore to me it is over the top and stereo typical of the public humiliation that white people had painted of us in the past. I know we are more talented than that. Black People are experiencing a gradual process of letting our expectations get too low, so behavior that should not or would not be acceptable now has become acceptable. We are at the point now where, it is as if this is just how it is. Nevertheless, this should not be normal. The true way for Black People is to reach for higher heights. Quit dumbing down our culture.
Black People teach your children because THOSE WHO FORGET THE PAST ARE CONDEMNED TO REPEAT IT!
PS: Precious was a master piece with no buffoonery. This tells me he can do it. I can admire people who have principles that money cannot buy. Please, see Dave Chappelle.
